Olga Lind Rice

She was the fifth and last child of John Lind and Ellen Marie (Ferguson) Lind.

All of her siblings have preceded her in death.

Olga married Donald Isaiah Rice January 25, 1936 and they had two sons; Ronald Beryl and George Galen. Ron also passed recently.

In 1938 Olga and Don purchased two lots north

of town in Golden at 702 Iowa Street and someone gave Don an old two room tool shed which they drug out there, and lived in while they brought rocks down from Golden Gate Canyon and built a stone house right around the shed, which became the bedrooms. They lived there until Don died in 1981.

Olga has eleven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Olga loved music and played an accordion most of her life. She was in three senior bands; Clemens Center, Golden Girls and Silvertones. In her last years, she was lovingly cared for by the staff of Ashley Manor in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
