

Lucille had many different types of jobs and interests which made for a full life. She enlisted in the United State Marine Corp. in April of 1945 and received an Honorable Discharge at the end of WWII. She was President of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary in Golden, Switchboard Operator, Lakewood Police Dispatcher, worked at Samsonite, IRS Tax consultant, waitress, Real Estate Agent and probably a few other jobs.
Throughout her life she enjoyed crafts of all kinds, going to auctions and yard/estate sales. She owned her own thrift shops (This N That) in Golden and Rantoul, IL. Lucille enjoyed traveling with her 3rd husband, Bob, and the local Grand Junction Rock & Mineral Club, exploring many states and collecting rocks.
Lucille is survived by 5 siblings: Rosaline Smith (Dale), Walter Bettinger (Nita), Donna Scholz (Bert), Robert Bettinger (Sarah), Ronald Bettinger (Leslie), 5 children: Peter Watkins, Patrick Hannum (Diane) Elizabeth Scholz (Bert), Katherine Yaffe, Helene Hannum (Bob Silvey) and 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
