Addie Noelle Cason, age 15, of Prairieville, LA passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Addie was born February 15, 2002 in Slidell, Louisiana, to Kemp and Lucy Cason. She's named after her great great Aunt, Addie Noel, and is for certain making fast friends with her now.
She is survived by her parents Kemp and Lucy Cason; Sister Emma Lucille; maternal grandparents, Euylas and Glenda Burton; paternal grandparents, Roland and Eva Cason; godparents, Sandra Fontenot and Burt Burton; and her best friends, Riley Richard and Sabrina Troughton.
Addie was a military child; she sacrificed her entire life while her daddy served in the Marine Corps. He retired last year and the family returned home to Louisiana where Kemp and Lucy grew up. Addie was a talented singer who used her voice to sing in both the Choirs at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and St. Amant High School. Her love for the arts kept her singing and extended to acting in the drama class where last year she was radiant in the lead role. Addie was a member of the Beta Club, Gator Rally, and The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Although she was 'not an athlete on a field,' she was remembered saying, "But momma, I'm an athlete for God." Her Catholic faith was unshakable and her devotion was expressed through not only a vibrant personality, but through commitment and service. She was a proud Altar Server at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa, FL, where her little sister desperately wanted to be one too, and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant. Addie was a sophomore at St. Amant High School where she earned a 4.4 GPA. Nominated by two of her teachers, she recently served as a Gator to Gator Mentor that helps incoming freshmen. She was always smiling, singing, dancing, and laughing; she was loyal, and without knowing, inspired others to be better people. She is loved beyond measure.
A visitation will be held in Ourso Funeral home chapel on Thursday August 24, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday morning at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, from 11:00 am until the Mass begins at 1:30 pm. Entombment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to benefit the St. Amant High School Choir where she shined.
Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.oursofh.com for the Cason family.
