

He was the retired owner/president of East Ascension Telephone Company, EATEL. A resident of Gonzales and a native of Baton Rouge, he passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales at the age of 80. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, on Sunday, Feb. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and resumes Monday, Feb. 7, from 8 a.m. until religious services at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Scott Bledsoe. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Mausoleum in Gonzales. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Evelyn 'Bubbie" Braud Banker; four sons and daughters-in-law, Albert "Buck" Jr. and Nelda Banker, Philip and Vickie Banker, Brian and Brenda Banker, and Tim and Terrelyn Banker, all of Gonzales; a sister, Ruth Beryl Banker Scanlan, of Gonzales; a brother, Michael Banker, of Gonzales; and 11 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff and Jenny Banker and Brad and Tara Banker, all of Gonzales, Scott Banker, Jessica and Ross Marcotte, Jeremy, Bryne, Jamie and Briss Banker, Sage and Davey Thibodeaux, and Teryn and Tanna Banker, all of Gonzales. He is also survived by his longtime friends, T-Boy Argrave, Chick Edmonston and Tommy Hatten. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Norris Banker Sr.; mother, Anona Comeaux Banker; brother, Fred Norris "Mike" Banker Jr.; and grandson, William Joseph Banker. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Brad, Scott and Jeremy Banker, Smokey and John Scanlan, Jack Rogers and Joel Mayer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association , P.O.
