A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Joshua Johnson for Mr. Albert Pierre Templet on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA. Burial will follow at the church mausoleum. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation. Albert was born July 3, 1930 to Adam and Delphine Templet in Brignac, LA, and resided in Gonzales, LA. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on March 30, 2021, at 8:17 a.m., at the age 90. He was a fun-loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and served as an usher for many years. He worked 35 years as a Plant Operator and a Shift Foreman at Ormet. He enjoyed being a prankster and joking with all his grandchildren. He loved giving silver bells to anyone who entered his home. He loved the 4th of July and his country. He was a Veteran for the U.S. Army prior to the Korean War. He was famous for his Charlie Brown Christmas Tree and cooking a big pot of gumbo on Christmas Eve for everyone to come over and visit. Through the years, all the grandkids would participate in hanging an ornament on the tree. Everyone always looked forward to his Star of Bethlehem and his Reindeer in the yard. He loved traveling and if he took a wrong turn, no problem, he was “touring America.” He loved going camping in his RV with his late wife, Mary. He absolutely loved dancing, and if there was a dance, you could catch him there on the dance floor jitterbugging. He is survived by his sons, Kenny and his wife Tonie, Jimmy and his wife Phyllis, Clark and his wife Priss; daughters Charlene Templet Bourgeois, Vanessa Templet Babin and husband Johnny, Joanie Templet Lee and husband Glenn, Darnell Templet Robson and husband Jim; grandchildren Lindsey Templet Duplessis, Amy Templet Wheat, Jordy Templet Sr., Jennifer Landry Board, Jonathan Templet, Larissa, Christina, and Maria Bourgeois, Juliet Babin Raffray, Brant Babin, Diana Babin Coulon, Jacé Templet Babin, Hayden and Landon Wells, Dustin and Chase Templet, Courtney Blount, Jacob Robertson, Christopher, Betsy, and Bridget Melancon, Adam and Aaron Lee, Allisa Lee Caston, Ryan, Haleigh, and Brett Robson; 35 great grandchildren; and sister Gatis Eve Mire. Pallbearers are Jordy Templet Sr., Jonathan Templet, Brant Babin, Hayden and Landon Wells, Dustin and Chase Templet, Jacob Robertson, Christopher Melancon, Ryan and Brett Robson. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Morin Templet, his parents, Adam and Delphine Templet, brothers Wilbert and Curtis, sisters Bessie Templet Gautreau, Jeanne Templet Berthelot, Cecile Templet, Leona Templet Morgan, and Rose Templet Frederic. The family would like to extend special thanks to Audubon Hospice, especially social workers Cindy Boseman, and Rochelle Brady; nurses Bea Pellet, Tanya Tillman, Kim Neck. And special thanks to Dr. John Fraiche. The family would also like to extend our deepest gratitude and most gracious thank you to his caretaker, since December 2020, Tammy Gagnard, for her outstanding care, her friendship, and her love in taking care of our father. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to go to The Full of Grace Café at Our Lady of The Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, Louisiana.
