Alfred "Al" Joseph Retif, a native of New Orleans, and a resident of St. Amant, LA passed away at the age of 88 on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Al was the owner of Al Retif Enterprises and a lifelong car and boat racing enthusiast, most recently a member of the Voodoo Model Boat Club. Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Adelyn Thompson Retif (his “Addie Rose”); daughters, Leslie Retif Diez, Leah Retif Olinde (Brian), and Lynn Retif Marchand; son, Joseph “Joey” Retif (Kim); stepdaughters, Gwen LeBlanc Ford (Larry) and Raelyn LeBlanc Millet (Dean); 15 grandchildren, Justin Diez (Bridget), Kelby Diez (Logan), Michael Olinde (Samantha), Katelin Olinde Wolfe (Brennan), Blain Marchand (Ashley), Bryce Marchand (Falon), Boyd Marchand (Kristin), Bailey Marchand, Brylie Marchand, Steven Fontenot, Chasitie Retif White (Dakota), Kylie Retif (Tyler), Katie Ford Chase (Ryan), Emily Millet Schexnayder (Nick), Elise Millet and 19 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Tommie Lee Retif Humphreys and Dr. T.N. Retif. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Alfred Retif, mother, Tommie Hutchinson Retif, and grandson, Timothy James Ford. A visitation for Al will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 5 to 8 PM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737 and on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Household of Faith, 10469 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA from 9AM til the funeral service at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest in Hope Haven Garden of Memory, 604 E. Hwy 30, Gonzales LA 70737. Special thanks to the staff at Carpenter House for the comfort and care provided.
