

Anicet (“Dooney”) Laiche Jr. (73) passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Born January 20, 1953 in Baton Rouge, LA, Dooney was a resident of Gonzales, LA, spending most of his life as a pipeline operator.
He enjoyed cooking. His sauce picante he cooked on NYE was one of his most loved meals. Along with his wife, he hosted an annual jambalaya festival every summer in their backyard. Each NYE, they hosted a party and bonfire. In 2003, he purchased a motorcycle, and he and Sherry enjoyed riding 20 years. They made lots of great memories and great friends.
Mr. Laiche Jr. is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sherry Duplessis Laiche; daughter, Adrian E. Laiche; sons, Courtney A. Laiche and Tyler D. Laiche (Ashly); sisters, Gayle Fontenot, Geraldine Painter and Sheila Wittie (Louis); and grandchildren, Emily Parker, Caroline Parker, Andrew Laiche, and Audrey Laiche.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Estelle Laiche; father, Anicet Laiche Sr.; brothers, Roderick Laiche, Manuel Laiche (infant) and John Neil Laiche.
Family and friends are invited to attend services at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 15208 LA-73 Prairieville, LA 70769 on Thursday, June 11, 2026, visitation will begin at 10:30 AM with the Mass starting at 12:00 pm. Dooney will be laid to rest at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville, LA following the service.
