Anna Mae Alexis

Anna Mae Alexis, 87, of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Anna’s life was defined by love, loyalty, and an unwavering dedication to the people she cherished.

For 63 remarkable years, Anna worked at Ormet Corporation, where she held numerous roles and ultimately served as a procurement agent. Her colleagues knew her for her exceptional work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and steadfast commitment to the company she proudly served for more than six decades.

Additionally, Anna served for many years on the board of directors for Burnside Federal Credit Union.

Family and faith were the heart of Anna’s world. She was a selfless and giving woman with a humble spirit, always placing the needs of others before her own. She loved hosting family gatherings—bringing everyone together around good food, conversation, laughter, and shared memories. Quick witted and intelligent, Anna enjoyed fishing, solving crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite game shows, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of LSU sports. Above all, she was fiercely devoted to her family, and her presence was a constant source of strength and comfort.

Anna is survived by her children, Arlene Alexis Brown (Scott), Jerry “Jay” Alexis Jr. (Deirdre); her sisters, Ruth Cardinale, Pat Gonzales, and Marie Lambert; her grandchildren, Dale Williams (Celeste), Dexter Rousseau (Melissa), Arlan Brown (Bailee), and Blair Alexis Harris (Grant); and her great grandchildren, Sophia Brown, Jonah Brown, Thea Brown, Harris Williams, and Lucas Pourciau.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Alexis Sr.; her parents, Alvin Lambert Sr. and Emily Oubre Lambert; and her brother, Alvin Lambert Jr.

Anna will be remembered for her deep faith, extraordinary intelligence, sharp wit, strong work ethic, and fierce loyalty. Most of all, she will be remembered for the boundless love she poured into her family. Her kindness, her laughter, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who loved her for generations to come.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13th, 2026 from 9:30-11:00 a.m at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 LA-621, Gonzales, LA 70737. Funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m and interment will follow at Hope Haven Hwy 30.
