

Arlene was born on September 24, 1939 in Gonzales, Louisiana to Windom and Lorena Gautreau.
Arlene was known as the matriarch of the family. She enjoyed spending time at the casino with her husband Alfred, cooking for her family, and playing cards with her girlfriends. Of course, she could never pass up a bowl of her beloved Blue Bell ice cream.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Morrel and brother, Bernard Gautreau (Margaret). Her children, Elinda Taillon (Clarence Brock) and Holly Wolverton (Craig); her grandchildren, Cody Edmonston (Britne’), Chase Braud (Kelli), Jordy Poche (Ashley), Morgan Moran (Kaleb), Megan Simoneaux (Matthew), Maya Wolverton and Ava Wolverton; her great grandchildren; Cullen Edmonston, Lane Edmonston, Landry Braud, Norah Kate Braud, Presley Poche and Payton Poche.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Alfred Taillon; her parents, her sister Margie Melancon; and her daughter, Tammy Edmonston.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 8:30am-10:00am at St. Theresa of Avila Church. Funeral services will start following the visitation at 10:00am. Interment will be at Hope Haven Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chase Braud, Jordy Poche, Bernard Gautreau, Todd Kling, Matthew Simoneaux and Kaleb Moran.
The family would like to thank the caregivers Tracey and Jenny with Magnolia Caregivers and Tamra and Rita. We would also like to thank Corie and Anna with Pinnacle Hospice who provided support and comfort during her final days.
