Arnold Ray Dencausse, also known as “Honey/Paw quit it!”, a native of Hobart and resident of St. Amant passed away on June 27, 2021, at the age of 78. Arnold loved Honey Buns, Fairlife chocolate milk, John Wayne movies, his trusty flannel bathrobe and his traveling sweetie, Ruby. He enjoyed traveling the country, especially to Hawaii and Pennsylvania, and even went international, travelling to Japan, Guam, France, and Medjugorje, Bosnia. His favorite activities were starting numerous projects around the house and in the yard (but not always finishing them) and poking those he loved, especially Ruby, hence his nickname, “Honey quit it”. His greatest joy in life was making others laugh and had a plethora of silly faces in his repertoire.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Dencausse, mother, Jewell Dencausse, siblings, Gerald Dencausse, Carroll Wayne Dencausse, Judy Dencausse Garcia, and Leroy ‘Lee’ Dencausse; son, Michael Dencausse, and granddaughter, Lanie Dencausse. He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Decoteau) Dencausse; siblings, Glen Dencausse, John Dencausse (Pat), Warren Dencausse (Bonnie), Larry Dencausse (Sherrie), and Lois Dencausse Doughty; his children, Robert Dencausse (Sonya) and Brenda Dencausse Reulet; his grandchildren, Chance Dencausse (Elyse), Meaghan Donewar (Ross), Brooke Musso (Paul), Liana Dencausse, Emery Dencausse, Steven Hendricks, Gabrielle Plunket (Colin), Jacie Dencausse, and Gracie Dencausse and his great-grandchildren, Kallie, Kaysen and Brody Dencausse, Elijah and Eleanor Musso, and Caden Plunket.
