Ava Grace Branstetter, born July 10, 2009, went to her Heavenly home on May 29, 2016. Though her time with us was short, it was long enough to inspire her family and friends for the rest of their lives. Ava was a star soccer player, scoring every goal in her final game. She was silly, smart, genuine, and kind. Beautiful both inside and out, Ava was willing to give away her tiny possessions to make anyone smile. A proud Spanish Lake Bobcat, she recently won a school raffle of $1000 and planned to buy a new house for her family and give $200 to every child on her bus. All who knew her loved her and she loved them in return. Ava's legacy will live on through the gift of organ donation. As prayers are often answered in ways we don't initially understand, the miracle we hoped for turned into many miracles for her recipients. We find peace in knowing that in her death, she gave life to others. Ava is survived by her mother Emily Gregory Branstetter; father Jason Ryan Branstetter; grandparents Jacque David and Anne Gregory, Ronald Branstetter, and Fay and William Thiel; aunt Julie Gregory; uncles Peter Jamison Gregory and Joseph Johnson; sister Madeline Kate Branstetter and twin sister Olivia Anne Branstetter. Also survived by Darryl Daigle who has been a very special part of her life for the past 2-1/2 years and Mallie Daigle, who was like a big sister to her. Preceded in death by great grandparents Henry and Anna Elbess Landry, Helen Gregory, Robert and Sarah Branstetter and cousin, Jonathan David Nassar. Pallbearers will be Joseph Johnson, Troy Jumonville, Dr. Robert Easton and Jamie Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Branstetter, David Gregory, Ronald Branstetter, Darryl Daigle, and William Thiel. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA from 9:15 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am; Fr. Jerry Martin, celebrant. Entombment will immediately follow at Oak Lane. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ava's name to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Association and Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital.
