Avery Kate Burge

“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved child, Avery Kate Burge, who was taken from us too soon on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at the tender age of 20 months. She brought immeasurable joy and light into our lives with her kind heart, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. Avery Kate was born on February 13, 2023. During her 20 short months here on earth, she touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. Her life was a brief gift to us that will live on as her heart was donated and received by someone who was in need. Avery Kate is the daughter of Zachary and Brigette Burge. She is survived by 2 siblings, Molly Winters and Lyle Burge; grandparents, LeeAnn King, Tracy Jones, and Keith Burge; aunts and uncles, Whitney and Dusty Smith (Nanny and Doodie), Chris and Shana Savant, Haley, and Brennan Burge; cousins, Braleigh and Jace Smith, Kaitlyn “K.K”, Kylie, Allie, Dallas, and Easton Savant. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Paw Paw Larry King, and Jim Burge and Maw Maw Marty, Vera Dixon, and Jackie Holland. Avery Kate loved babbling, kicking her feet, and chewing on everything. She especially enjoyed playing peek-a-boo and cuddling with her Mommy, Daddy, and sister. Avery’s favorite song was “You Are My Sunshine.” She also loved to go for rides in the car. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church Denham Springs 27735 LA16, Denham Springs, La.
