Barbara "Bobbie" Templet DeLaune, a resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loving family. Barbara lived a full and joyful life. She was an avid traveler who loved exploring the country, a dedicated reader, and a talented cross-stitcher. She enjoyed playing cards and especially cherished teaching her grandchildren how to play. Trips to the casino brought her excitement, but nothing compared to her love of cooking and spending Sunday afternoons surrounded by family.Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Mark DeLaune; her children, Jennifer (Shane) Spillman, Tony (Cindy) DeLaune, and Shawn (Maegan) DeLaune; her sister, Pamella “Pam” Fontenot; and her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mi Mi Comeaux, Becky and Chris Deshoutelles, and Lionel Babin. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Brooke (Joseph) Babin, Jayda Spillman (Charlie Moore), Tyler DeLaune, Jenna Spillman, Jacee Spillman (Bryce Viverata), Emma DeLaune, and Alivia “Livie” DeLaune and her great-grandson, Brax Babin, who brought her immense joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Alice Savoy Templet; her in-laws, Leslie and Hilda Guidry DeLaune; her infant daughter, Colette Marie DeLaune; sisters, Doris Babin and Jeanette and Richard Gant; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Thelma and Frank Michelli, Sue and Pete Denham, Dorothy DeLaune, Leslie “Buddy” and Jeanette DeLaune, Gerald Comeaux, Hugh Fontenot, and Michael Evans.
Services for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in the Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Tyler DeLaune, Joseph Babin, Mann Babin, Eric Labatut, Bryce Viverata, and Charlie Moore. Honorary pallbearers include Rocky Gant and Brax Babin. To honor Barbara’s memory, the family kindly asks everyone to wear something blue—her favorite color and a reflection of the calm, faithful spirit she carried throughout her life.
Barbara’s legacy of love, family, and togetherness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her.
