

Barbara Darlene Folks passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the age of 64. She was a member of the Rock Church where she loved spreading the word. Barbara loved gardening, flowers, fishing and Saints football. She loved animals, especially her dog Sassy. Barbara was a retired long-time hairdresser who always helped others in need. She is survived by her daughter, Inga Guitreau and husband Jeff; father-in-law, George Folks; sisters, Shirley Ezelle and spouse, Rodney, Carmen Suzor and spouse, Harley; brother, Larry Reed and wife, Linda; unofficial adopted daughter, Holly Pearson; grandchildren, Josse Stroughter and Annabella Folks; great grandchild, Waylon Taylor; cousin, Betty Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Norma Lollar Reed; husband of 34 years, Frank Folks; mother-in-law, Velma Folks; twin daughters, Kallie and Olivia Folks and daughter, Deena Folks. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 5PM – 9PM. On Monday, July 31, 2017, visitation will continue at The Rock Church (on Churchpoint Road across from the parish barn) from 9AM until service begins at 11AM, conducted by Pastor Blake Melancon. Interment will be held privately at a later time. Pallbearers will be Curtiss Pearson, Carl Dean Folks, Brian Marse, Garrett King, Cody Dement and Denver Butters. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Palmer and Rodney Ezelle. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pinnacle Hospice and nurses Nikki, Amanda and Elizabeth.
