Barton Joseph Leader Sr.

Barton Joseph Leader, Sr. passed away on Saturday January 10, 2015 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 72. Barton was native of New Orleans and a lifelong resident of Whitehall, LA. He was a retired supervisor with Rubicon, Inc. and a U. S. Army veteran. Barton is survived by his wife Mary Hoover Leader, 5 Sons and their spouses; Barton J. Leader, Jr. and Angie Delatte Leader, C. Troy Leader and Desire Fontenot Leader, Carl A. Leader, Kent I. Leader and Lizette Louviere Leader, and Luke A. Leader. 2 Brothers and their spouses; Hubert Leader and Mary Louise Leader, and Raiford Leader and Vickie Leader. Mr. Barton is also survived by 6 Grandchildren; Mary Alexis (Alex) and Barton J. (B.J.) Leader III, Kade and Claire Leader, August Young and Dixie Leader. Mr. Barton was preceded in death by his parents; Hilton P. and Lavinia Delatte Leader. Visitation will begin on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Whitehall, LA. from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm celebrated by Rev. Jason Palermo. Burial will follow at the Whitehall Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Barton J. Leader, Jr., B. J. Leader, III, Troy Leader, Carl Leader, August Young, Kent Leader, Kade Leader and Luke Leader.
