

Betty Jean Coffey, loving wife of Buddy, mother and grandmother, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Tennessee at the age of 74. She was a native of New Orleans, a resident of Bay St. Louis, Miss., for 22 years, and resident of Hermitage, Tenn., for seven years.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin J. "Buddy" Coffey, Jr.; two sons, Louis A. Dammerau and William Michael Apken, III; daughter, Lorraine D. Wimberly; brother, Walter William Apken III; grandchildren, Kristin Apken, Ashley Apken, Traci Wimberly Olivier, Thomas Wimberly, III, Triniti Wimberly and Timi Wimberly; great-grandchild, Paige Starr; four stepchildren, six stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter William Apken Jr. and Mary Badalamente Apken.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation hours from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, LA 70737, and will resume on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 9 a.m. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by burial at Oak Lane Memorial Park, 15304 Highway 73, Prairieville, LA 70769.
