Betty Ficklin Ficklin Parent

A native of Gonzales, a resident of Galvez and a retired hairdresser, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Bluebonnet. She was 72 years old. Visiting will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting will resume on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church at 9 am until a mass of Christian burial at 11 am. Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Rubin Reynolds, with burial to follow at Ficklin Cemetery, Gonzales, La. She is survived by 2 daughters: Shannon Peabody and husband Rich of Gonzales and Celeste Hughes and husband George of Huffman, Tx., 2 sons: Bret Parent and wife Charmaine of Ethel, and Lance Parent and wife Alisa of Gonzales, 1 step daughter: Christine Didier and husband Darren of Denham Springs, 2 step sons: Ron Simoneaux and wife Dana of Gonzales and Blaine Simoneaux and wife Rhonda of Bayou Pigeon, 1 brother: Don Ficklin and wife Peggy of Gonzales, 13 grandchildren: Ty Bateman, Cody Truax, Kelly Kling, Brooke & B.J. Parent, Hayden, Mason & Taylor Peabody, Austin & Collin Parent, Shannon Hughes, Brandon LeBlanc and wife Kat, Brandon Hughes and wife Angel, 7 step grandchildren: Kristin Matthew, Lauren & Jacob Simoneaux, Chase Mayers, Danielle & Layne Didier, 6 great grandchildren: Braden & Caine Bateman, Cole, Madison & Benton LeBlanc and Dylan Hughes and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband: Ronald Parent, 2nd husband: Lynn Simoneaux, Jr., parents: Perkins & Leona Lebeau Ficklin, 1 brother: Leon Ficklin and 1 sister: Georgene Ficklin. Pallbearers will be Cody Truax, Ty Bateman, B.J. Parent, Hayden Peabody, Mason Peabody & Ron Simoneaux. Betty was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all.
