Betty Marie Mire White, of Prairieville, passed away peacefully on the evening of November 4, 2022 at the age of 97. Betty was born on June 15, 1925 to Telesphor and Ledie Mire in Gonzales. In March of 1942, Betty married Rufus Solomon White and went on to have 6 children. She was a loving devoted housewife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. She loved spending time in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for her family. Her family was the center of her universe. She was always ready to go places and was given the nickname, “Ready Betty”, whether it was going ride to Sonic, running the roads with her daughter Dee Dee, watching her grandchildren play ball or attending her grandchildren’s many events. She was always there with her loving support and her smile lit up every room and she will be missed dearly. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Telesphor and Ledie Braud Mire; her husband, Rufus White; 3 children, Vesta Laiche, Billy White Sr., and Dorothy Anderson; sons-in-law, Leroy Laiche Sr, Monte Anderson, and Donald Guedry Sr.; 2 Grandchildren, Lisa Nicole White, and Troy Laiche and 2 Great Grandchildren, Carlen and Callie LeBlanc. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her survivees, two daughters, Sandra Guedry, and Janice Babin (Carroll); son, Craig White (Alena); daughter-in-law, Shirley White; 15 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and 22 Great-Great Grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Leroy Laiche Jr, Donnie Guedry, Cody Anderson, Craig “CJ” White Jr, Colt Babin and Gannon Ealouis. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Laiche and Sherri White. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 9 am to 11 am with Christian Chapel Service at 11 am. Burial services following at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery, Gonzales, LA. The family of Betty White would like to extend thanks to the doctors and staff at the Baton Rouge General Hospital.
