A native of New Orleans and resident of Duplessis, she passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the age of 86. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Patricia Melancon; 11 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Melancon; sons, Melvin, Sedgie, Jessie Melancon; parents, Viola Sauce and Arthur Duncan; grandson, Sedgie Melancon, Jr. There will be a visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. until a service at 12:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church Cemetery in Donaldsonville.
