Billy "Bill" Wescott, age 92, was born August 6, 1929, a native of Memphis, TN and resident of Gonzales, LA, for the past forty-eight years. He passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was also born again into the family of God on 3/24/2022 and met his Savior shortly after his salvation.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and friend. Bill was known for his unique sense of humor and always making people laugh. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, yard work, cooking, working cross word puzzles and attending church when he was able. He had a competitive spirit about everything he did. But, most of all he cherished spending time with his family and friends. In his last days, he cherished the special visits from his daughter, Tammy who he could always make smile. Tammy loved her "Didi" so much and will one day reunite with him and they will both have perfect bodies in heaven.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of forty-nine years, Donna Williams Wescott; three children, Preston Wescott (Patricia), Marsha Gail Thum (Brian), and Tammy Wescott; seven grandchildren, Lynn Wray (Scott), Jessica Savage (Adam), Coleman Wescott (Haley), Jeremy Wever (Lee), April Garmon (Josh), Bryan Parkey (Chrissy), and Danielle Todd; twelve great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers and sisters in law, Scott Williams (Aline), Marsha Mitchell (David), and James Williams (Rita); special angel, Annette Brown who always went above and beyond to take such great care of Mr. Bill, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his two sons, Johnny Todd and Kerry Wescott (Robbie(daughter in-law)); parents, Berney and Naomi Wescott; four sisters, Dorothy Noe, Jean Martin, Sue Mansel, and Bonnie Johnson, and numerous other family members.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA, from 5pm until 8pm with a brief Masonic Ceremony 6:30pm. The Masonic Ceremony will not interfere with regular visitation. Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 2, 2022 from 9am until Service at 11am. Burial will be held at the Serenity Oaks Cemetery.
