Bobbie Jean Broussard Leftwich born Christmas Day, December 25, 1936 went home to Jesus on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 12:10pm at her home in Prairieville with her loving husband, after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 84, a native of Hobart, LA. Bobbie was a graduate of Dutchtown High School and Baton Rouge Business College. She retired from Security Mortgage Co. in Baton Rouge in 1982.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter L. Leftwich and all her (Babies) nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was a life member of EASL and Wildlife Federation. She received Life Time Achievement Award for EASL, along with many other awards. She was a member with American Legion of Gonzales. She was a charter member of Prairieville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary. Bobbie was a great supporter of the Prairieville Fire Dept., which she called her “HEROES.”
She is preceded in death by her parents, Belton “Bob” Broussard and Stella Mae White Broussard; sisters, Nita Broussard, Rita Desporte, Pearl Murphy and brother, Alvin “Bud” Broussard.
There will be a private family graveside celebration with Father Jerry Martin of St. John and Deacon Leon Murphy. Pallbearers will be Bryce Broussard, Chase Broussard, Teddy Desporte, Brady Lessard, Nicholas Murphy and Robert Murphy. Honorary Pallbearers are Alvin Broussard and Jonathan Desporte.
A very special THANKS to The Hospice of Baton Rouge, especially Hannah, RN, Dr. Gerald Miletello, Dr. Harold Clausen and Dr. Adrian Landry and their staff; also for the support and loving care from her loving family and friends. She was everyone’s “CARE BEAR!”
