Brett Louis Marchand “Goob” passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the age of 58. He was born in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Gonzales. A diesel mechanic who owned his own business, Brett was an avid hunter, fisherman and lover of nature and animals. He was such a genuine, sincere, respectful and loving soul. Loved and respected by everyone, his love and gentleness poured out to his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, extended family and friends. Our joyful memories are endless of Brett and will live in us forever. Brett is survived by his wife Paulette Millien Marchand; daughter Trina Marie Deroche and husband Matthew Adam Deroche; son Jacob Tyler Marchand and girlfriend Taylor Veillon; 4 sisters, Bonnie Marchand, Patsy Picou, Becky Kennedy and Charmaine Bizette; 2 brothers Wayne Marchand, and Dudley “Trigger” Marchand III; 2 grandchildren, Makenna Deroche and Gemma Deroche. Brett was preceded in death by his father Dudley L. Marchand, Jr.; mother, Colleen G. Comer; and brother-in-law, Terry Bizette. Visitation will be on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales from 9AM until 1PM. Prayer service at 1PM celebrated by Father Jason Palermo at Ourso Funeral Home followed by burial at Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Harvey Jones, Wayne Marchand, Dudley “Trigger” Marchand, William “Billy” Hamilton, Bruce Millien, Barry Millien, Matthew Deroche and David Cashio.
