Byron retired from the Boilermakers Local 582 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after 35 years of dedicated service. Throughout his career, he formed many lasting friendships and took great pride in his work.
An avid outdoorsman, Byron enjoyed spending his time fishing and hunting, two of his favorite pastimes. He was also a devoted football fan who loved cheering on his beloved LSU Tigers.
Above all, Byron treasured the time he spent surrounded by family and friends. He was truly the life of the party, always ready with a joke, a laugh, or a story to share. His fun-loving personality, sense of humor, and love for those closest to him will leave cherished memories in the hearts of all who knew him.
Byron is survived by his children, Amy Lee Miles, Jeffery Miles, and Amanda Ross; grandchildren, Taylor Miles, Ashton Pepple, Sam Hutchinson, and Presleigh Miles; great-grandchild, Kensleigh Pepple; sister, Beverly Lynn Polk (Raymond); brothers, Charles Miles (Sandra); and Ernest Lane Miles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. Miles and Joyce E. Spencer; and brother, Kenny Miles.
A visitation to celebrate Byron’s life will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, Louisiana, on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Byron’s memory.
Byron will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but the laughter he shared, the memories he created, and the love he gave will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
