Calvin Charles Lambert

Calvin Charles “Cooley” Lambert, retired USAF T/SGT, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 83. Calvin was known as Cooley and Poppa and he was a native of Luling, LA and a resident of Gonzales, LA. Cooley enjoyed gardening, camping, fixing things and square dancing. He loved his family, took pride in serving his country and most of all he loved God. He enlisted in the USAF at 18, obtained his GED, and spent 21 ½ years serving his country. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a 25 year employee of Colonial Sugar in Gramercy, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Rowena Lambert; father in law, Felix Poirrier, mother in law, Bernice Cannon Poirrier; siblings, James D. Lambert, Norris G. Lambert, Ella Lambert Nolan and a special nephew, Johnny Gale Leveron as well his beloved pets, Peppi and Charli. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Evelyn Gayle Poirrier Lambert; daughters, Stephanie Lambert Hoover, Lauren Lambert Lain (Guy), Jancy Lambert Templet (Michael); son, Calvin “Cal” Charles Lambert II; grandchildren, Anah Hoover Painter, Emily Hoover Wheat, Katie Hoover Norsworthy, Laci M. Templet, Ryan Taylor, Lyndsi M. Templet Roberts, Durel Hoover Villemarette, Bryce R. Lain, 16 great grandchildren; and godchildren, Dawn Wann, Sarah Leveron Badeaux and Sheila Graham. Active Pallbearers are Bryce Lain, Duke Stewart, Adam Gautreaux, Derrick Leveron, Felix Todd Leveron and Aaron Gautreaux. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Gautreaux, Taylor Painter, Eli Charles Painter, Ethan Painter, Vincent Norsworthy, Nathan Wheat, Nicholas Wheat, Steven Taylor, Leeland Taylor, Samuel Roberts, Oren Stevens and Owen Stevens.

Family and friends of Poppa are invited to attend the Visitation on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 10am-1pm at Ourso Funeral Home-Gonzales with Funeral Services immediately following. Pastor, Mike Robertson, Officiating. Interment: Richardson Cemetery, St. Amant, LA. Masks are required for attendance.
