Carol Jean Black Arnold

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Black Arnold (80), who passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the comforting prayers of those she held dear.

Carol was an accomplished businesswoman and a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and friend, known for her beautiful, classy, and elegant nature. Together with her husband, Phillip, she proudly owned and operated their real estate company. Forever young at heart, they shared a vibrant life full of energy, love, and partnership. Her home was a place of warmth and gathering, always filled with family and friends. She adored hosting holidays, tending to her divine flower beds, sharing her famous cooking, and soaking in the immense happiness she received from her grandchildren.

In her final years, she continued to embrace and thoroughly enjoy life, sharing endless love, attention, and sweet laughs. Alongside her devoted caretakers, Kimberly Smith and Julia Griffiths—who truly became what she fondly called “My Girls” within the home—she found not just wonderful support, but cherished best friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Leroy Black and Sallie May Zeck.

She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Howell Arnold; her children, Preston Phillip Arnold and LaRonda Leigh Daigle and her husband Troy Daigle; her sisters and their husbands, Linda Black Morton and her husband Gene Martin and Claudia Black McCall and her husband Mickey McCall; and her beloved grandchildren, Madison Daigle Faison and her husband Wesley Faison, Cameron Daigle, Alexandra Grace Arnold, and Hudson Phillip Arnold.

Following a brave battle with dementia, services will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, LA 70737. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday, August 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12:00 PM. She will be laid to rest at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park, 15304 Highway 73 Prairieville, LA 70769

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's memory to Audubon Hospice, in deep gratitude for their wonderful care and support.
