Carolyn Ann Braud Rheams

Carolyn Ann Braud Rheams passed away peacefully on July 23, 2023 at her home in Gonzales. She is survived by her three children Tasha Marie Rheams, Tiffany Marie Rheams and John Michael Rheams (Natasha) and their father, her former husband Michael Rheams. She was the grandmother of Camden Furlong, Victoria Allen, Daelen Jones, John Rheams Jr., Hunter Rheams and Paisley Rheams. She is also survived by her siblings; Ronald Braud (Denise), Darryl Braud (Carolyn), Janine Brown (William), Kermit Braud Jr. (Claire) and her mother-in-law Joyce Rheams. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents Kermit and Yola Olivier Braud, her father-in-law BJ Rheams Jr., her grandparents Henry & Elia Braud and Oscar & Lillian Olivier, her nephew Jake Henry Braud and her great-nephew Wyatt Alexander Braud. Carolyn had an enormous heart and loved to laugh. She made friends with everybody she met, always putting others before herself. Everybody who knew Carolyn knew how much she enjoyed doing for others. She would always volunteer to put on benefits for those in her community. She worked at Giesmar Grocery for over 20 years. Carolyn treated everybody who came through the store as if they were lifelong friends. She was the “Basket Queen” and loved putting together the biggest of baskets that would fill the aisles of the store. Carolyn was most happy when she was able to spend time with her family and especially her grandbabies, they could do no wrong in her eyes. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be John Rheams, Camden M. Furlong, Paul Braud, Benjamin Braud, Joshua Braud and Ben Rheams. Honorary pallbearers will be J.J. Rheams Jr., Hunter Rheams, Daelen Jones, Blaine Braud, Jeremy Braud, Jason Tureau and Justin Tureau. A visitation for Carolyn will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy, Gonzales, Louisiana 70737, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
