

Catherine Theresa Daigle Bourgeois, a resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge. She was 87. A dedicated parishioner of Holy Rosary Church for many years, she served as a member of the Catholic Daughters and in other church ministries. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing, and she was an avid LSU sports fan. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Doyle “Pomp” Bourgeois; her children Douglas Bourgeois, Kevin Bourgeois and wife Martha, Jason Bourgeois and wife Lorna, Terry Bourgeois and wife Teresa, Ava Bourgeois Carbo and husband Dennis, and Martin Bourgeois and wife Georgann; grandchildren Sara Richard, Daniel Bourgeois, Aaron Bourgeois, Nathan Bourgeois, Timothy Bourgeois and Hannah Bourgeois. Also survived by siblings Arthur Daigle, Fay Cranfield and Florence Duplessis. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Estella Daigle; siblings Marie Mares, Delores Daigle, May Daigle and Emanuel Daigle. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 7 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Gonzales Healthcare Center and The Carpenter House for their compassionate care at this time. Donations may be made in Catherine's name to St. Joseph Hospice or Holy Rosary Catholic Church. “A life that touches others goes on forever.”
