Cecilia Leblanc Wright, a native and lifelong resident of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the age of 85. Cecilia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She adored her daughters, grandchildren, and sons-in-law. She never missed an event that her grandchildren were involved in. She loved playing cards and visiting with her friends while quilting, eating out, and watching sports. She lost her husband, Thomas Wright, when she was only 57 years old. She became the matriarch of her family and always ensured that the family stayed close and continued family traditions. She was a book keeper by trade and a lifelong parishioner of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. Cecilia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deenie and Dale Schexnaydre, Becky and Tab Harris, and her grandchildren, Conner Harris and wife Alyssa, Jude Schexnaydre, Abby Harris, and Joel Schexnaydre. Cecilia is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wright, her parents, Ola and Adam Leblanc, and sisters, Marie Bercegeay, Elsie Gregoire, and Faye Delatte. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at St.Theresa of Avila Catholic Church on Saturday, December 17 from 8:00 am until Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am celebrated by Father Eric Gyan. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery.
