

Chad Robert Garcia, 45, passed away on July 26, 2016. He was born in Baton Rouge on February 22, 1971 and resided in Prairieville. Chad loved to cook and fish with his son in Grand Isle. He was a devoted and dedicated husband, father, son and brother who loved spending time with his family and friends. They were most important to him. Chad loved playing baseball, wrestling and music. He worked in restaurant management for years, most recently at Panera Bread. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Southeastern Louisiana University. Survived by his wife Tracy Mayers Garcia; mother Patricia Freneaux Garcia; daughter Briana Michelle Garcia and step-daughter Kate Elizabeth Vidrine; son Brandon Robert Garcia; brother Brett Garcia (Bree); brother-in-law Nathan Mayers (Melissa), father-in-law and mother-in-law Barry and Chris Mayers and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Leonard Garcia; paternal grandparents Wallace and Paulette Garcia and maternal grandparents Edward and Rita Freneaux. Pallbearers will be Brett Garcia, Nathan Mayers, Todd Garcia, Tommy Garcia, John Spinosa, Tommy Lemmings and Brian Delatorre. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Garcia, Briana Garcia and Kate Vidrine. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Thursday July 28, 2016 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. Visitation will continue on Friday July 29, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 15208 Hwy 73 in Prairieville from 9:30AM to 11:00AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00AM, celebrant Father Jerry Martin. Interment will follow the service at Hope Haven Mausoleum in Prairieville.
