

He was born August 6, 1934, in Gonzales, Louisiana, a son of the late Willie and Luella Babin.
Wayne was a former employee of Allied Chemical in Baton Rouge, and a retail sales employee for Kadairs(also in Baton Rouge). He had a love of Classic cars and all forms of music, especially live music, and was a member of multiple car clubs and a radio club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine W Bass; and brother, Gary Andrew Babin.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ann Babin, brother Willi J(Billy)Babin and wife Phyllis; one daughter, Regina Thompson; four sons, Charles W. Babin. Jr and wife Madeleine of Gonzales, La; Rory J. Babin and wife Valena Kay of Gonzales; Randy J. Babin of Walker, Louisiana; Mark C. Babin of Baton Rouge, La. ;three step-sons, Troy Andrew Babin and Kelly; Ty Michael Babin and Lesia; Jason C. Babin and Rhonda, all of Prairieville, La. ;Michael I. Bass and Kim, of Texas City, Tx.; and a host of Grandchildren, Great- Grandchildren and Great-Great- Grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, La., the Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM. Wayne will be laid to rest at Prairieville Cemetery.
