Claudia Ann Berthelot Hoover, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born in Head of Island on December 13, 1945, and passed away May 11, 2022 at Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Claudia was 76 and a resident of Whitehall, Louisiana. Claudia was an employee of 44 years at Maurepas High School and spent most of those years as the school secretary. She recently retired from the Livingston Parish School system. She enjoyed being with her family and especially her 5 grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Herbert Joseph Hoover, III; daughter and son- in- law, Shannon and Troy Gautreau; brother, Clarence “J.J.” Berthelot and wife Yvette; sisters, Mary Leader and husband Hubert Leader, Sr., Scharlene Acosta, Sue Berthelot; 5 grandchildren, Hannah Gautreau Decoteau and husband Dustin Decoteau, Marley Katherine Hoover, Emma Claire Gautreau, Sophie Anne Hoover, and Jackson Joseph Hoover. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert Joseph Hoover, Jr.; her parents, Herman Joseph Berthelot and Ora LeBourgeois Berthelot; sister, Joyce Loupe Weber; brothers- in- law, Joseph Loupe, Eddie Weber, and Roger Acosta, Sr. Visitation will be at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 9:00am until mass of Christian burial at 12:00pm.
