Clyde “CC” Cockerham Jr., a life-long resident of Walker, La passed away on August 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83 years old. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Velma Anita Hood Cockerham; 2 daughters, Lisa Thacker (Mason), and Liz Barnett (Richard); 5 grandchildren, Steven Thacker (Trish), Stacy Carpenter (Josh), Norman Barnett (Nicole), David Thacker (Raechel), and Jodie Carlin (Jerry); 10 great grandchildren; Alexi Dugas, KC Thacker, Montana Thacker, Grace Thacker, Rowdie Thacker, Kaston Carlin, Preston Carlin, Cole Dugas, Zoe Lasseigne, Kennedi Pilley and 1 on the way, Madeline Carpenter; sister, Barbara McMorris; brother, Raymond Cockerham; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Geneva Cockerham; father-in-law, Norman Hood; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stevie Hood Milton and Steve Milton; and grandson, KC Dugas. Services for “CC” will be held at Walker Baptist Church, 10696 Florida Blvd, Walker, La. Visitation will be on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 5 pm until 9 pm and will resume on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow in Walker Baptist Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Steven Thacker, KC Thacker, Norman Barnett, Josh Carpenter, Todd McMorris, Greg McMorris, Derek McMorris, Wayne Stafford and Jimmy Ouber. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Walker Baptist Church Building Fund.
