

A Baton Rouge native and Louisiana sportsman, he loved fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening, NASCAR, the LSU Tigers, and Saints football. He retired from LEMOINE after 2+ decades supervising construction of some of the region's most important cultural and economic sites.
Darryl is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherri McKey Cambre; children Mandi Cambre (Dustin Reuther) and Alex Cambre (Dorisia Francois); grandchildren Evie and Zélie Reuther; brother Wayne Cambre (Donna Kay); and sisters Cindy Guilbeau (Bobby) and Ruth Whitehead (Ellis); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, dear friends, and colleagues. He is predeceased by his twin brother, Harrell Cambre; sister, Judy McQueen; and parents, Clinton and Marie Millet Cambre.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home and will continue on Thursday, May 7 from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church before a Mass of Christian Burial at noon.
Pallbearers are Dustin Reuther, Bobby Guilbeau, Jim McQueen, Ellis Whitehead, Neal Dozier, Seth Dozier, and Derek Bercegeay. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Cambre, Alton McKey, Jr., and Jude Whitehead.
