Darwyn F. McCrory passed away on November 8, 2021 at the age of 75. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born on April 24, 1946 and was a resident of Hobart, Louisiana. Darwyn retired as a supervisor from a local chemical plant where he met and remained friends with some wonderful people. He was a graduate of Dutchtown High School class of 1964, and attended SLU. His greatest pleasure was being around his children and grandchildren no matter what they were doing, always giving what he considered wise words of wisdom. He received great pleasure from sports, fishing, wood work, camping and traveling throughout the US, including Hawaii and Alaska. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Monica Clouatre McCrory; amazing sons and their wives, Damon (Debbie) and Dax (Melissa), his awesome grandchildren, Morgan, Grant, Connor and Leigh, all of whom he was very proud of. He is also survived by his siblings, Beverly Miller, Shirley Michel and Sue Bercegeay, Gerald and Don McCrory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Eva Gautreau McCrory, and his in-laws, Arthur and Laura Frederic Clouatre. Visitation will be on November 11, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant, LA from 9:30 until the mass at 11:00 a.m., with burial following at Holy Rosary. Mass will be officiated by Father Tom Ranzino. Musical accompaniment provided by Steve and Keith Frederic, and scripture readings by Andrea Decoteau and Karen McCrory. Gift bearers will be his “girls”, Andrea, Alyson, Alysha, Morgan and Leigh. Pallbearers are Grant and Connor McCrory, Bruce and William Clouatre, Donnie Gautreau, Byron Gautreau, Robert (Doc) Sholar and Dudley Brown. Special thanks to Dr. Lavie and his awesome staff at Mary Bird Perkins, the doctors at OLOL and staff at Clarity Hospice of BR. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
