David Bryan Duplessis

David Bryan Duplessis was born on May 16, 1967, in Baton Rouge, raised in Gonzales, and spent 25 great years in Lafayette. He spent his final years in his hometown of Gonzales Louisiana while centering his life on family, friendship, and his Catholic Faith.

David found joy in running, triathlons, and he especially treasured the time he spent with his wife and children. Whether he was tailgating with friends, traveling to new places, or sharing his passion for history and storytelling, David embraced life with enthusiasm and created lasting memories with those around him. His love, humor, toasts, and unwavering devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Throughout his life, David coached multiple sports, served as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, was an active member and former Royal Duke of the Krewe of Bonaparte, a mentor to many and a friend to all. He loved singing, dancing, and sharing laughter with everyone he met.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Torrie Amedee Duplessis; his children, Peyton Duplessis, Dru Duplessis, Tiggy Duplessis, Jase Duplessis; and his brother, Jeffery Duplessis and wife Nelly Duplessis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul "Geefoo" Duplessis and Glenda Nugent Duplessis.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Boudreaux, Patrick Bell, Brady Bell, Tim Teer, Aaron Smiley, Dustin Wambsgans, Jody Amedee, and Jason Goetzman. Honorary pallbearers will be CJ Mitchell and Scott Sheets.

Visitation will take place at Ourso Funeral Home on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, as well as at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 AM, with a Committal Service to follow at Hope Haven in Prairieville, LA.

David's legacy will live on through the love he shared with his family, the friendships he cultivated, and the countless lives he touched. He was a light in the world that can never be replaced. He will be remembered always for his fun generous spirit, adventurous heart, his impromptu dancing, and the love he had for those closest to him.
