David James Guidroz

Mr. David James Guidroz, a resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, passed away on October 15, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on February 15, 1962, in Opelousas, Louisiana, David will be remembered for his selfless heart, his deep love for his family, and the joy he found in the things he loved most.

David was a man who always put others before himself. His family meant everything to him, and he showed his love through his kindness, generosity, and willingness to be there whenever someone needed him. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially his love for racecars and camping. Above all, he treasured the time he spent with his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

David is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Guidroz; children, Braddy (Laci) Guidroz and Courtney (Victor) Cowart; sister, Wanda (Howard, Jr.) Martin; his brothers, Leonard (Wanda) Guidroz and Patrick Guidroz; beloved grandchildren, Aubree Guidroz, Tristan Cowart, Wyatt Cowart, and Brettlynn Guidroz; and sister-in-law, Peggy Guidroz. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Verna Mae and Jessie Guidroz; maternal grandparents, Adelma and Octave Taylor; paternal grandparents, Dutile and Alzire Guidroz; and brothers, Gerald Guidroz, Dutile "DJ" Guidroz, Terry Guidroz, and Daniel Guidroz, Sr., sister-in-law, Melanie Guidroz; and nephew, Daniel Guidroz, Jr. "Lil Dan.”

Though David's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, the memories he created, the kindness he shared, and the love he gave so freely will never be forgotten. His life was a testament to the importance of family, selflessness, and making the most of the time we are given. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life Service will then follow at 12:00 PM before the Committal Service at Lake Cemetery in St. Amant, LA.

Pallbearers will be Braddy Guidroz, Victor Cowart, Leonard Guidroz, Howard Martin, Jr., Dempsey Lambert, and David Boudreaux.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Guidroz, Aubree Guidroz, Tristan Cowart, Wyatt Cowart, Brettlynn Guidroz, and Caden Cowart.
