Deborah Alice Marchand Ledoux, 59, of French Settlement, was unexpectedly taken from our lives and joined the angels in heaven, especially her beloved granddaughter Angel Grace on Tuesday, July 1, 2014. Her greatest loves and the joy of her life were her husband, children and grandchildren. She was selflessly devoted to her family, a wonderful homemaker, great cook and a loving, supportive and nurturing mother. There was never a time that she was not willing to offer a helping hand to family and friends. Her special gift of “mothering” extended well beyond her own three children as she provided a warm and welcoming home for everyone. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children and grandchildren, as she was the “heart” of her family and insured that her family spent special times together creating wonderful memories. She was a strong, independent, caring, supportive and giving woman. She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Mark Ledoux; three children, daughter, Aimee Wheat and husband Bradley, son, Ritchie Ledoux, and daughter, Ashley Ledoux; six grandchildren, Matthew, Abigail, Grayson and Lawson Wheat, Hunner Ledoux, and Ava DeBate, and a multitude of family and friends. Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales from 5:00 -9:00 PM on Sunday, July 6 and on Monday, July 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement from 8:00-11:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. To Mark & Children,
So sorry to hear of your loss. What a "spunky" lady. Debbie was so helpful to our family those years in the grocery store. She was truly a "blessing" to us all. She had a way of communicating with my dad to get a point across. Everytime I saw Debbie, she had a smile on her face and was laughing at something or someone. She could brighten someone's day. She was willing to help anyone who asked for it. She would be there, giving 100%. I know Ms. Elvie was grateful for all the love and care Debbie gave to her. I know she instilled that compassion, helpfulness and happy spirit in her children and grandchildren. May you cherish those wonderful memories of her. May the Lord give you a peace that only He could give you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Gary (Murf)& Liz Murphy, Brigette, James & Amber Martin, Brandi & Avery Latham

Sending much love and support from my family to yours.

"She always leaned to watch for us
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate.
And though we mocked her tenderly
Who had such foolish care,
The long way home would seem more safe,
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget,
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet.
Waiting ‘til we come home to her
Anxious if we are late
Watching from Heaven's window
Leaning from Heaven's gate."

Tonight was a beautiful service. Mrs. Debbie would be proud of the way her family has looked after one another and shouldered the burden of responsibility that comes with loss in her absence. She was a wonderful woman and tonight shed light on the extent of how far her reach extended with the outpouring of visitors she received. We love you and pray for your family's healing.
