Dempsey “Chick” Edmonston, age 77, of Prairieville, La passed away on Friday, Sept 15, 2023. He is remembered as a loving son, devoted husband, good father, doting grandfather, loyal friend, excellent coach, friendly neighbor, and avid fisherman. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Kaigler Edmonston, sons, Shane Edmonston (Melissa), and Kirt Edmonston (Cathy); grandchildren, Bryn Dill (Trenton), Mia Edmonston, Sarah Jane Edmonston, Spencer Edmonston, Susanna Edmonston, Jaques Sperier, B.J. Delaune, and Megan Templet; sister, Nelda Clousing; brothers, Murphy Edmonston Jr., (Carla), Buryl Kuhl (Kathy), and Joey Rushing (Shelia) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Butler Rushing, his father, Murphy Edmonston Sr., and his mother and father-in-law, John and Ellen Kaigler. A visitation will be held on Monday, Sept 18, 2023 from 9 a.m. till funeral service at 11 a.m. at Ourso Funeral Home Gonzales, La. He will be laid to rest at Galvez Baptist Church Cemetery.
