Dennis L. Schroeder

Dennis Lyle Schroeder passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the age of 74. He was a native of Clarinda, Iowa and a longtime resident of St. Amant, Louisiana. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diana Schroeder, and their children, Dana Gonzales & husband Presiliano “Chino” Gonzales III and Justin Schroeder & wife Michelle Schroeder. He was the proud Pappy of his grandchildren, Piper Schroeder and Charlota Rosa Gonzales. He is also survived by his sister Marcia Titus and brother in law Bob Titus; his brother Dave Schroeder and sister in law Joella Schroeder; brother in law David Rankin and sister in law Laura Rankin.  He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents Alden and Edythe Schroeder, his brother Rodney Schroeder and his sister-in-law Kathy Schroeder.

Dennis proudly served his country in the US Navy. He received his associate’s degree in American Literature. He enjoyed traveling, reading, staying up with current events and watching Collegiate Sports. But most of all he was a man of faith and family. Spending time with his family always brought a smile to his face. These shared memories will be cherished for many years to come. Dennis will be remembered for his love of God, his precious family, and his heart for others.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Dennis’s Life on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Hwy. Gonzales, LA 70737. The memorial gathering will begin at 9am with a funeral service starting at 11am. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dennis’ s honor to First Baptist Church Lake Charles Youth; Ronald McDonald House Charities; Space City Cycles Ambucs Chapter.
