

DONNER ROUSSELL PARKER BOUDREAUX, 86, a resident of Gonzales and native of Bogalusa, passed away on December 24, 2020 at home. Donner was born on November 24, 1934. After graduating Bogalusa High School, she attended Southeastern Louisiana University. She married Ray L. Parker, Jr. and became the mother of four children. Widowed at a young age, she worked tirelessly to give her children opportunities and good lives. She eventually met and married Larry J. Boudreaux and had a fifth child to complete her blended family of nine children. After raising her family, she continued her education at Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School and graduated as a registered nurse at the age of 50. She chose a career with Capitol Home Health, where she loved her patients and was passionate about the care she delivered. She was an amazing cook, seamstress, and quilter and was an expert at Jeopardy. Survived by her children Steven J. (Choyer) Parker, Donald Ray Parker, Robert E. Parker (Bernard Creed), and Carolyn E. Boudreaux (Kimberly Owens); stepchildren: Janice B. (Vernon) Pfister, Lisa B. (Tommy) Belt, and Herbert Boudreaux; son-in-law: William Barnett; sister: Patricia Miller; and brothers: Leslie J. Roussell and Paul (Vickie) Mitzenberg; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husbands: Ray L. Parker, Jr. and Larry J. Boudreaux; parents: Leslie J. Roussell, Sr. and Vernice Fremin Roussell Mitzenberg; stepfather: Arthur P. Mitzenberg; daughter: Vicki P. Barnett; stepson: Kenneth Boudreaux and sister: Alicia R. St. Romaine. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church celebrated by Fr. Eric Gyan at 11 a.m. Internment at Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. Thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge for their tender care.
