

Doris Lessard Cleveland, 81, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Doris was the business owner of “Cleveland’s House of Draperies” in which she designed draperies and decorated many homes and businesses. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a very devout Catholic and was devoted to prayer. She was a mother to all who knew her and was affectionately known as ‘Nanny’ by everyone. Doris is survived by two daughters, Paris LeBlanc-Maloney and Mindy Capello and husband Jody, a son, Paul Anthony Cleveland; six grandchildren, J'olie Culpepper and Husband Jason, Garrett Craft and wife Brandi Skinner-Craft, Lauren Capello, Eli Capello, Lester Maloney and wife Sarah, and Katie Maloney; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaylee Culpepper, Conner Joseph Craft and Hunter Craft, Andrew and Ashton Skinner, Skyler and Kambree Capello, Gabriel, Barrett and Rosemary Maloney and Aidan Thomas Maloney; siblings, Shirley Louviere, Rosemary Patterson, Theresa Bourgeois, Charles Lessard, Arthur Lessard, John Jay Lessard, Toby Lessard, Gary Lessard, Donald Lessard and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Thelma Lessard and by the father of her children Paul R. Cleveland. Visiting will be on Thursday, October 20th from 5 until 8 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales. Visitation will resume October 21st at 9:30 a.m. at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial is to follow at Serenity Oaks Memorial Park.
