

She was born in Schweinfurt, Germany, to Hans and Rosa Kupfer on Jan. 2, 1934, and was a resident of Maurepas. She passed away Friday, March 4, 2011, at age 77. She was a waitress at Berthelot's Restaurant for the past 25 years. She is survived by her sons, Murphy Bovia Jr. and wife Janice, and Dwayne Bovia; daughter, Pam Munson and husband Kent; grandchildren, Christopher "Chris" Bovia, Sharon Quasdorf and husband Robert, Jennifer Mumphrey and husband Jamie, and Kendyl Munson; great-grandchildren, Cy, Lucas, Noah and Katie Bovia; brother-in-law, Eugene Bovia and wife Lynette; sister-in-law, Maise Bovia; and numerous nieces and nephews in the States and in Schweinfurt. Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Murphy Joseph Bovia Sr.; infant daughter, Carmen Bovia; parents; sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth Kupfer (infant), Helga and Ernest Sheppard. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Sunday, March 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Maurepas on Monday, March 7, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jason Palermo, celebrant. Interment in Maurepas Cemetery, Maurepas. Pallbearers will be Kelly Bovia Jr., Eugene Bovia Jr., Chris Bovia, Kurt Bovia, Kendyl Munson and Robert Quasdorf.
