Edeltraud “Dora” Westbrook, a native of Germany and resident of Gonzales, LA died on June 23, 2022 at the age of 91. Dora loved her family and friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Oma.”
Dora enjoyed giving back to her community by serving in her church, Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where you could find her worshipping in the front pew. She had a youthful soul and enjoyed celebrating the Saints and the LSU Tigers. Dora put down her tennis racquet in her senior years and focused her energy in the gym doing circuit fitness and tai chi. Dora never met a stranger and always had a smile, unless she was posing for a picture. Her fun spirit will always remain in the lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Dora is survived by daughter, Anne Westbrook-Mursin and husband, Nikolay Mursin, IV; son, Stephen V. Westbrook and wife, Jennifer G. Westbrook; grandchildren, Morgan B. Gladwell and husband, Matthew C. Gladwell, Madison N. Westbrook, Mason A. Westbrook, Lawson L. Tuttleton, and Sophia S. Tuttleton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Westbrook, her parents, Johann Goger and Anna Goger, and ten siblings.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am. Burial will follow.
