Effie Jewel Michael Guitreau

Effie Jewel Michael Guitreau, a native of Lake, LA and resident of St. Amant, LA, passed away peacefully at Ascension Oaks Nursing Home on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the age of 83. Effie belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 3693, DAVA Chapter 45 Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion Post 81 Ladies Auxiliary. Effie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing, cooking and baking, camping and the outdoors. Effie is survived by her loving daughter, Candy Guitreau Brown and husband, Tommy; granddaughter, Nicole Lyn Brown; sister, Eva Templet Rogers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Erdman John “Tunney” Guitreau; daughter, Tracy Lynette Guitreau; parents, Edmond and Bonnie Annie Michael; 1 sister; 7 brothers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Faithful United Methodist Church Cemetery in St. Amant. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Ascension Oaks Nursing Home for their care and support.
