

Elaine Burns, a native and resident of Gonzales, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at the age of 71. Elaine was very active in the church community, serving in The St. John’s Ladies Altar Society, St. John Cemetery Committee, Red Hatters, and the Pokeno Club. Elaine was an avid LSU Baseball fan and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She made rosaries, quilts and blankets for local nursing home residents and various churches. Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Mr. Conrad J. Burns; sisters, Loraine Fearheiley, Barbara Graham, Earline All; brothers, Malcom Babin, Douglas Babin, and Kenneth Babin. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bertin and May Parr Babin; brother, Gerald Babin, niece Amy Fearheiley. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory Cemetery Mausoleum. Kevin Burns, Bert All, Jason Babin, Warren Burns, Randy Graham, and Jeremy Ferachi will serve as pallbearers.
