Elaine Painter Tucker

May 1, 2016, surrounded by family, Elaine P. Tucker, became one of the heavenly angels as the beautiful soul of this precious, beautiful, woman of faith came into God’s grace. Elaine was 72 years old and is survived by her loving, devoted, patient and kind husband of 52 years, Joe W. Tucker Sr. She leaves behind her beloved son, Joe Tucker Jr., her precious gem, grandson, Brayden Tucker, and his mother, Kristin Freyou Tucker. Those left to cherish her memory are brothers and sisters in law, Charles & Theresa Painter, Craig and Wendy Berteau, brother, Gerald Painter, sister and brother in law, Trudy and Alan Bates, and sister and brother in law of heart, Sheila and Ron Wells, and brother of heart, Tracy Philippe, who will miss her and rejoice in her life daily. Elaine was the proud Godmother of Benjamin Michael Zeringue and Alex Clyde Bates, whom will cherish her love and devotion for eternity. Elaine is also survived by sister in law, Doris Gremillion. Other survivors include 8 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews. There are too many cousins who adored and loved Elaine to mention, as well as life-long friends, but they will remember her in their hearts and minds forever.

She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Clyde and Winnie Berteau, her maternal grandparents, Forest and Eveline Gore, and her paternal grandparents, Lucien and Loney Berteau. Elaine had a passion for traveling with Joe, spoiling Joey and Brayden, shopping and eating, and finding humor each and every hour of each and every day.

Services will be held as follows: Saturday May 7, 2016, at Ourso Funeral Parlor in the Chapel, wake held 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the rosary, a Christian service and final burial at Hope Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Benjamin Zeringue and Alex Bates, Godsons, Troy Painter, nephew, Edward Gore, cousin, Alan Bates, brother in law, and Keith Zeringue and Kevin Kedroske, family friends.
