Elvie Eve “Kite” LeBlanc Melancon, a native and resident of Sorrento, passed away on Tuesday, November 06, 2018 at the age of 93. Kite was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She loved to go crabbing, as well as gardening and tending to her flowers. Kite was an angel on this earth and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her daughters, Deanna Berthelot and husband Glenn; Mona Melancon; sons, Kent Melancon (Kim), Gary Melancon (Lori), Shane Melancon (Tammy), Scott Barnes (Ashley); grandchildren, Kelli Aime (Gerald), Kristyn Richardson (Brad), Katie Beach (Ben), Kole Melancon (Laura), Dusty Acosta Templet (Keith) Ashley Nagin (Barret), Natasha Tullier (Cyle), Heather Johnson (Randy), Ted Melancon (Kaylajo), Michael, Megan, and Matthew Melancon, Brennan, Bryce, and Bailey Henry, Ashton Barnes; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Aime (Kristie), Kadyn Aime, Reese Richardson, Bella Kate Beach, Emmy Jayne Melancon, Billy and Anna Champagne, Cylie and Cayden Tullier, Ella and Levi Melancon, Randall Johnson III, Sydni Johnson, Neveah Melancon, Tristen Melancon; great-greatgrandchildren, Olivia, Cayson, and Myles Aime. Kite is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Lucien “LJ” Melancon, Jr.; Parents, Felix and Armine Bourgeois LeBlanc; daughter, Janice Barnes and baby Melancon; grandchild, Bradley Melancon; 9 siblings. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Sorrento from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory of Gonzales.
