Emile was born to Ernest Joseph “Campo” Letulle and Roberta Haydel on February 13, 1935, in the small community of Central in St. James Parish, Louisiana. He was the youngest of ten children. He married Geraldine Marie Frederic on June 8, 1957. Together, they had two children, Emile Jr., and Michael (Lisa). He was known as “Paw Meal” to his only grand-daughter, Michalyn Letulle Ourso (Luke), and three great-grandchildren, Owen Michael, Ellyn Lee and Amelia Marie.
Emile served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, retired from the LA Department of Transportation and Development after 32 years of service, and then went on to retire from ILA Local 3033. Known as “Hooks” by many, he was known for his hard work, love of LSU sports, always striking up a conversation, and never turning down a game of Bourré.
He is preceded in death by his son, Emile Joseph Letulle, Jr.; his parents, Ernest Joseph and Roberta Letulle; his brothers, Wilbert “Frére” and Robert Letulle; his sisters, Glory (Julian) Schexnaydre, Maud (Wilbert) Chauvin, Grace (Marsette) Temple, Delores (George) Schexnayder, Elta Mae (Vincent) Simon, Mercedes (Lawrence) Simon, and Marjorie (Harrison) Troxclair.
Emile is survived by his wife, Geraldine Frederic Letulle; son, Michael Letulle; his daughter-in law, Lisa Bourgeois Letulle; his granddaughter, Michalyn Letulle Ourso and husband Luke Ourso; and his great-grandchildren, Owen, Ellyn, and Amelia.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 Hwy. 429, St. Amant, LA, on Friday, April 5th. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Matt Lorrain at 11:00 a.m.. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary mausoleum.

They would also like to thank the doctors and nurses of Our Lady of the Lake Ascension St. Elizabeth for the knowledgeable and compassionate care he received in his final days.
