Emily Ann Brown

A native of Gonzales, LA and resident of Acworth, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Acworth, GA on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. She was 28 years old. She was born March 5, 1984, in Baton Rouge, LA to beloved parents Michael Brown and Susan Carlin. She was a proud employee of McDonalds in Acworth, GA. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family. There was never a day where she didn’t light up the room with her youthful energy and the twinkle in her eyes.

She left this world of sorrow to be with the angels. She walks with them, she talks with them, and they gently rock her to sleep at night. She is survived by her loving parents, Susan Gayle Carlin, of Gonzales, LA; father, Michael Cullen Brown, of Acworth, GA; maternal grandmother, Barbara Belle Bostrom Carlin, of Baton Rouge; paternal grandparents, Joann and Cullen “Buddy” Brown, of Gonzales; three sisters, Erin Brown McGinn, Helen Foster Brown, and Johannah Hughes Brown; brother, Jeremy Michael Brown, and wife Amy; two nephews, Patrick Owen McGinn and Jackson Jeremy Brown; and three nieces, Maya Elizabeth Brown, Lauren Nicole McGinn, and Anna Morgan Brown. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and has touched the lives of many more friends and co-workers. Preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Henderson Carlin; great uncle, William Joe “Buck” Foster; and two great aunts, Colleen Carlin Bissel and Elizabeth Carlin Meherin. A visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gonzales at 10 a.m., conducted by Bishop Shane Richardson.
