

Ephelie “Billy” Eliser Duplessis, a native and life -long resident of Gonzales, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the age of 90. Billy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. Billy enjoyed sewing, traveling, solitaire, crosswords, and dancing. She was an amazing cook, known for her famous Chocolate Bread. Billy is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Joseph Verlin “Joe” Duplessis; daughters, Peggy D. Miller and husband, Alvin, Brenda D. Richier and husband, Michael, Ramona D. Giscliar and husband, Dallas; sons, Clark Duplessis, Mark Duplessis and wife, Dannett; grandchildren, Wade Miller and wife, Teresa, Scot Miller and wife, Paula, Brandon Richier, Joshua Richier, Russel Duplessis and wife, Mona, Melissa Duplessis, Grant Duplessis and wife, Amanda; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Billy is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Eurine Eliser; sons, Martin and Gary John Duplessis; siblings, Joe Eliser, Norris “Boogie” Eliser, and Norma E. Lambert. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Ourso Funeral Home of Gonzales from 9:30 am until service time at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory on Hwy 30 in Gonzales. Russel Duplessis, Grant Duplessis, Wade Miller, Scot Miller, Joshua Richier and Brandon Richier will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Gonzales Health Care as well as the staff at Bridgeway Hospice and St. Michael Hospice.
